Featured Fireworks/Fourth of July Events

Escape the crowds! Enjoy the fireworks from the bay on July 3 at 9 pm.

The port of San Diego big bay boom July 4th fireworks show is back, promising another spectacular display over San Diego Bay. Fireworks will be discharged simultaneously from barges placed strategically around the bay. The impeccably choreographed display will last approximately 18 minutes.

The pet-friendly Fourth of July Drone Light Show will feature an impressive fleet of 300 drones, meticulously choreographed to create stunning formations and patterns in the night sky. The entire show will be accompanied with a soundtrack, accessible to all on the LUMINOSITY Radio page. The display will be viewable from up to 2 miles away including throughout Ocean Beach and Point Loma with the Newport Avenue Business District being the prime spectator location.

University Heights Summer in The Park
When: July 7- August 4, 2023
Come out this summer for fun & free entertainment on Fridays starting in July and the first Friday of august during university heights summer in the park concert series!
Arts District Summer Music Series
When: July 9, 2023
The NTC foundation is partnering with beer, food & music to present the 2023 arts district summer music series! Everyone is invited to wander and explore the arts district and enjoy free outdoor musical performances on the north promenade.
When: July 14 – August 11, 2023
Since 2001, Point Loma summer concerts has been bringing family-friendly concerts to Point Loma Park, with crowds swelling to nearly 3,000. The concerts are now a community tradition, with strolling teenagers who attended their first concerts in strollers.
Marine Band San Diego Summer Concert

Come out for an evening of amazing live music by the popular music group, “sound strike.” These talented marines will get you pumped with a performance that will be sure to keep you swaying – ooh-rah!

As you may remember, my dear friend and running buddy, Meghan Haggblade passed away less than two years ago from a rare form of cancer at 29 years old. One of her favorite races and annual tradition was to run the Hot Chocolate race in San Diego. In her honor, please run and join Team Meghan with me!!

Steps to register for the Hot Chocolate 2024 event:
- Go to event and register.
- At the checkout screen, you must click “Use Coupon.”You must enter: “MEGHAN5K, MEGHAN10K OR MEGHAN15K” depending on which distance you’re choosing to run, and then click “Apply Coupon”.
After you register, Val will go in and approve your registration to complete the process. Please notify her via email or text once you’ve completed your registration.
(*Using the code will allow participants to be grouped with the team and result in changing their balance. Cost will be $39 for the 5K, $49 for the 10K and $59 for the 15K. Participants will receive the group item too, but that item is still TBD). Spread the word to others you think might be interested in participating!
