Imperial Beach

91932

Located along the US-Mexican border and developed in 1956, the county of Imperial Beach is known as America's Most South-Westernly City. With a population of 27,000 people and a 4.5-square mile community, Imperial Beach is called Surfhenge by its residents.

A famous landmark in Imperail Beach is its pier, which offers a great view north to California and south to Mexico. The pier is a popular hang out and often, you will see it bustling with activity. The pavilion at the end of the pier is a popular place for residents.

Having recently undergone a serious makeover, Imperial Beach has quickly become one of the most popular and affordable places to live in Southern California. With great waves for surfing and sandy beaches for tanning, the beach is now a fun, clean place to hang out, thanks to the efforts of a grassroots campaign to clean up the beach and reduce Mexico's effects on its US neighbor.

Imperial Beach is famous for its annual Sand Castles Event, which is a 3-day experience that brings over 400,000 spectators and professional competitors. A visit to the event will afford you a view of exquisitely designed sand sculptures that are sure to take your breath away.
